Hello everyone!
Does anybody else find it difficult to keep up with blogging? Before I know it, months have passed and Greg and I have spent a solid couple weeks saying to each other “We need a new blog post!” It always seems to get pushed aside on the priority list of social media demands. Anyways, we finally set aside some time and have so much to recap.
Our off-season wasn’t much of an “off-season,” which is a wonderful position to be in- no complaints. We had a few amazing winter weddings and a couple of community events, including our annual Father-Daughter dance for the Hancock Fire Department and the first ever Hancock Hoedown- a benefit for The Friends of the Hancock Taylor Memorial Library. We also held our second Bridal Market and our second comedy show! All events played out better than we had hoped for.
Furthermore, we have been hosting small parties, celebrations of life, meeting new 2020 & 2021 couples, AND we just finished building our house that we moved into two weeks ago! We even managed to go on a trip of a lifetime to Montana! Like seriously, go book your trip now if you have never been.
Greg and I always find it difficult to leave home for trips. We’re both homebodies and enjoy being with our dogs, but we know it’s important to bust out of our comfort zone every once in a while. This winter, on a whim, we decided to book a trip to Montana. Yup, we went to Montana in the winter. Crazy? Probably, but it is by far one of the best trips we have ever taken. Since it was winter in Yellowstone we pretty much had the park to ourselves, which was so magical! We saw buffalo, mountain goats, wolves, all types of deer species and more. We snowshoed, explored backroads, ventured into Cooke City and snowmobiled the famous Daisy Pass, elevation was roughly 10,000ft! It was the best spur of the moment trip and we can’t wait to explore it again – maybe during the spring next time. Check out some of our favorite photos below from our trip!
On a more exciting note, we have moved down to Hancock! If you know us at all, you know that we lived in Savoy for the past two years, which was perfect other than the commute. Our hour-long drive to Bloom has turned into a two-minute walk! We have been here two weeks now and finally; our house is becoming our home. The grass is coming up in the yard, Greg has painted over that awful purple paint that covered our house- did anyone see that sight? Yikes!… In Savoy, we were spoiled with endless trails to walk our dogs on daily. Here, Greg has tirelessly been working on a trail system for us and it’s come a long way in a short amount of time. On a comical side note, we have learned not to walk our dogs during the time of Friday wedding rehearsals. Last weekend, Greg was walking them on one of the new trails and the dogs must have heard people talking at Bloom. Before we knew it, there were five dogs bolting out of the woods, through the meadow, and into rehearsal. It was a bit embarrassing but luckily everyone seemed to enjoy dogs!
Fast forward to today, we are gearing up to celebrate our 7th wedding this year for Jillian and Chara. This is going to be one heck of a party and we can’t wait for Saturday! Be sure to watch our instagram story to see all the details!
Tell next time!
