How is it Almost Winter Already?

The leaves have changed and fallen and we have just wrapped up our third, yup THIRD, season. We worked with some amazing couples, met some amazing families and teamed up with some fantastic vendors. We are just about booked for 2020 and booking fast for 2021!  Anyone looking for a 4th of July weekend special? Hit us up for details.

As I mentioned, this was our third season in operation but, it was our first season we actually lived in Hancock.  Between the added work experience, and removing a 45-60 minute commute each way, we are considering this year a solid improvement for everyone involved.  In the past years, Sarah would leave the house by 8:30am and wouldn’t make it home until midnight.  Those were long days with no real break.  This year we were able to break up the days much more efficiently and I was able to do more of the heavy lifting early in the day so Sarah and Rachel didn’t have to worry about it in the heat of the days.

Having our home next door also allowed Sarah to actually sit down and take a few minutes during the day to re-charge….and do Instagram stories – which seriously could be considered a separate job in itself.  These quick photos and videos of weddings and behind the scenes sneak-peeks have been one of our most popular and effective ways to engage people in what we do.  Sarah puts some serious effort into them so hopefully, you all have been enjoying them! (follow us here) Don’t have Instagram? They are also viewable on our facebook stories!

While this season went great, we also have some really fun events coming up this winter that we want to share with you all!  Starting off in just a few weeks we will be hosting another great comedy night! It takes place on, Friday, November 15th – We have no doubts this will be another fantastic show! The comedians are based out of NYC. You may even have seen some of them on Comedy Central! These shows have all sold out in the past, click here to get your tickets!

Another fun thing we get to do in the offseason is community fundraisers. The Hancock residents have been beyond welcoming to us, and we believe in giving back and supporting the community you live in. So, in January we will be hosting our 3rd annual Father-Daughter dance for the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department. This is a SUPER fun event for both daughters and dads!  We already have locked in one of the best DJ’s in the Berkshires, Chris Plankey, and back by popular demand, Berkshire Photo Booth– one of our all-time favorites! This year’s theme is Aladdin, and of course, there will be a live appearance from Jasmine herself! This will take place on Saturday, January 18th, 2020.

Our second community fundraiser is also back by popular demand. The Hancock Hoedown! Here at Bloom, we love to support our local Library and believe reading is one of the most important aspects of continued development, at any age. Last year we hosted our first-ever square dance to benefit The Friends of Taylor Memorial Library. This event is fun for all ages! There will be live music, food, and dance caller Mac Bellner will be back! Mac makes it easy for people with no experience to hop right in and join the fun. Don’t be shy, come out for a fun night of square dancing, you might even learn a thing or two about the history of the dances. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 8th, 2020!

That’s all for now.

We hope to see you this winter! -Greg
