Part 1: Our First Berkshire Wedding Season

Hey everyone!

Greg and I wanted to touch base with you all and let you know how things have been going and what’s new here at Bloom Meadows.  As you know by now, this is our opening wedding season, and after 3 years of planning, designing and building we are up and running and couldn’t be happier.  Many of you have been following us from the start and many of you have an upcoming wedding here! So, we figured we should let you all know how things have been going!

Bloom Meadows has hosted five weddings now, not including our own, and things have gone wonderfully.  We have been blessed to work with some really wonderful couples and great vendors which has made for some spectacular weddings.  What has been fun for us is that each wedding truly reflected that couple on their weekend. Each ceremony has had a unique and meaningful approach. Everything from the timing of events, décor and family traditions have been different and customized for the couple. Guest counts have varied from 70 to 200 guests; (Greg has gotten his workouts in running chairs!) Each dinner has been displayed and served differently. Each floor plan has been created and customized specially for that couple and their guests.  You might be thinking to yourself, “Well, that’s neat, but what’s that mean for me and how will this affect my wedding?” Each new approach allows us to see what works well, and what doesn’t.  It lets us anticipate what your caterer will need, the best positioning for the band or DJ, even what type of skewers you should get for the marshmallow’s for your s’mores bar.  All these variations allow us to serve you better. Being able to adapt to changes on the fly and make sure you are smiling at the end of the night!

On the business side, we have been busy!  While we still have a few off-season dates available for 2018, our peak-season dates are all booked up and we have started booking for 2019. To help us handle all the wedding excitement and quickly growing business Rachel Reynolds has joined our Bloom team! Greg and I have a passion for a lot of things, but organizing paperwork is not one of those. Rachel has been a lifesaver. Helping us get organized after a long year of construction and the massive amount of paperwork that has gone with it.  On top of those talents, she has an eye for detail and a passion for making people happy. Which we LOVE because those are talents that are both essential for our industry, but also innate that you either have, or you don’t. Rachel wears many hats here, from scheduling with vendors and touching in with our wedding couples to keeping our books straight. Greg and I will still be just as involved as we have been before, but having Rachel’s help really ensures that your wedding day is going to be nothing less than perfect.

Oh! If you haven’t checked it out yet, Bloom has been featured in the latest issue of Berkshire Trade and Commerce. Special thanks to John Townes & Brad Johnson for a great article and photos!
